Commanding Officer Comments

"Every day in the Young Marines is a holiday, every meal is a feast."
"In the Young Marines the difficult can be accomplished immediately, The Impossible may take a little longer."

Ashtabula County Young Marines' mission is to positively impact America’s future by providing quality
youth development programs for boys and girls that nurtures and develops its members into responsible citizens who enjoy and promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

We got our start in August 2008 when (late) David Sawdey, Jack Baker, and Doc Lee worked hard to get the program off the ground.  We are sponsored by the Pvt. Henry Kalinowski Detachment #782 of the U.S. Marine Corps League.

We graduated fifteen recruits in our charter class and have grown to over 45 in all as of April 2011.  Our numbers have increased and so has our equipment.  In February 2011, we added our information to the unit trailer which is used to transport unit supplies.
